Rules and Regulations

Leave Rules / Conditions / Absence
- For Students
- Leave is not a right and shall be granted only with prior permission from the competent authority.
- Unauthorised leave/absence is not permitted. Students must inform the school authorities in advance regarding their leave or absence and obtain prior permission.
- If a student remains absent continuously for more than 6 days without any intimation or permission, his/her name will be struck off (NSO) from the nominal rolls.
- In case a student submits a valid and acceptable reason for the absence, he/she may be considered for re-admission, subject to completion of the prescribed re-admission formalities.
- Minimum 75% attendance is compulsory for a student to be eligible to appear in the Final Examination / Board Examination, as applicable.
- For Staff and Teachers
- Leave for teachers and staff shall be granted as per BDPS norms/rules.
- All staff members and teachers are required to obtain prior permission before proceeding on leave, except in genuine emergencies.
- Any absence without proper permission or approval shall be treated as unauthorised leave/absence from duty.
- All students, teachers, and staff members are required to strictly adhere to the above leave rules.
Illness of Students / Teachers
To maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic school environment, the following norms shall be followed by all students, teachers, and other staff members.
- General Health and Hygiene
- All students, teachers, and staff members should maintain good personal hygiene and follow healthy habits.
- Regular handwashing with soap and water or use of hand sanitiser is encouraged.
- Coughing and sneezing should be covered with a tissue or the elbow.
- Sharing of food, water bottles, utensils, medicines, or personal items should be avoided.
- Illness Among Students
- A student suffering from fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, a contagious infection, or any other significant illness should not attend school until sufficiently recovered.
- Parents/guardians should inform the school promptly if their child is absent due to illness.
- If a student becomes unwell during school hours, the class teacher should inform the school office/medical room and the parent or guardian.
- The student may be kept separately from others, where appropriate, while waiting for a parent/guardian.
- Students should not be given medicines at school without appropriate parental/guardian instructions and the school’s established procedure.
- Students returning after a serious or contagious illness may be required to provide a medical certificate or doctor’s advice, where applicable.
- Illness Among Teachers and Staff Members
- Teachers and staff members suffering from a significant or potentially contagious illness should avoid attending school until sufficiently recovered.
- Staff members should inform the Principal/Head of School or the designated authority as early as possible if illness prevents them from attending work.
- Where required, medical leave should be taken according to the school’s leave policy.
- Staff members who become unwell during school hours should report their condition to the appropriate authority and seek medical attention if necessary.
- Staff members should take reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses in the workplace.
- Communicable and Contagious Illnesses
- Any suspected or confirmed communicable disease should be reported to the school administration by the parent/guardian or staff member, as appropriate.
- The school shall follow applicable public-health and government guidelines concerning communicable diseases.
- The school may take appropriate preventive measures, including enhanced cleaning, temporary separation of an ill person, and communication with parents/guardians or staff.
- Personal medical information shall be handled respectfully and kept confidential, except where disclosure is required for health, safety, or legal reasons.
- Emergency Situations
- In case of a medical emergency, the school shall provide appropriate first aid and contact the parent/guardian or emergency contact without unnecessary delay.
- Where necessary, the school may arrange urgent medical assistance or transportation to a medical facility.
- Emergency contact details provided by parents/guardians and staff should be kept updated.
- Return to School/Work
- Students and staff should return only when they are sufficiently well to participate safely in school activities.
- Any specific return-to-school/work requirements shall be based on medical advice and applicable public-health guidance.
- The school shall avoid unnecessary discrimination or stigma against anyone who has experienced an illness.
- Responsibility of Parents and Staff
- Parents/guardians are responsible for informing the school about relevant health conditions or illnesses that may affect their child’s safety or participation.
- Teachers and staff members are responsible for promptly reporting significant health concerns to the appropriate school authority.
- Everyone in the school community is expected to cooperate with health and safety measures to protect students, staff, and visitors.
Parents–Teachers Meeting (PTM)
Dear Parents,
This is to inform you that Parents–Teachers Meetings (PTMs) will be conducted after the completion of every Unit Test, Half-Yearly Examination, Annual Examination, and Pre-Board Examination for Classes X and XII.
PTM Timings
8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Purpose of PTM
The purpose of the PTM is to discuss the academic performance, progress, and areas of improvement of the students.
Important Instructions
- 100% attendance of parents is mandatory for every PTM.
- During each PTM, parents will have the opportunity to see and review their ward’s answer sheets.
- If a parent is unable to attend the PTM, they must meet the concerned teachers within one or two days, after 1:30 p.m.
- On the day of the PTM, students must accompany their parents to school and leave the school premises with their parents.
- Students must attend the PTM in proper school uniform.
- No school transportation will be available on the day of the PTM.
Expectations from Parents
Parents/Guardian Role
- Parents/Guardians are the chief educators and guides for their wards.
- Check your child’s diary daily. Do sign the remarks (if any), and take necessary action.
- Please check Hair, Nails, Uniform & punctuality of your ward in the morning.
- Encourage your child to take balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
- Parents are expected to attend PTM’s and school functions.
- Provide a supportive environment in the house.
- Maintain a balance between love & strictness.
- Monitor how your child learns and ensure that your child is not over-scheduled.
- Spend some time with your children and also encourage them.
- Maintain a friendly relation with your child.
